UPDATE: A lot of things have changed since I got this site up and running, and due to what was happening, I put this site on hold for a while. I’ve been thinking lately about continuing with it though, because I’ve gained a whole new perspective on this thing we call “parenting”. Just over a year ago, my husband walked out on me and our family. Now, it’s just me! It brings a whole new set of challenges and frustrations, things to learn about and discover, different ways of doing things, and new “battles” to overcome. So with that said… my posts will all be in the same content as before, but with the added twist of doing it as a single parent! I will likely add a new part to my blog too, that is focused on all those challenges and ways I’ve learned to get around them. Being left can leave you in a heap of mess, challenges, confusion, discouragement, defeat – but if you take the time to focus on yourself, and do some self-healing, you really CAN do it. There are many ways I’ve learned about this in the past year, and it will continue to be a learning process. Not without it’s challenges though, as my situation is quite challenging indeed, dealing with a narcissistic ex-husband. But if I can encourage and inspire even just ONE like-minded, single parent out there, then I will consider my blog a success 🙂

Now for the original content of my welcome page…

Please excuse the mess! (No I’m not talking about our crazy house this time!) I’m just getting this blog underway, so bear with me as I get it all set up and get some info, etc. posted. If you pop by and think it’s something you might be interested in, please follow me or sign up to the right/scroll down so you can stay up-to-date on new posts.

Hello! Welcome to my blog, and thanks for stopping by! I’m Janette, and I decided to create this blog because I know a few years ago, I would have loved to find an all-encompassing parenting blog like this. When I was trying to come up with a name and a main theme for it, and some of the words or phrases that came to mind were radical, primal roots, passionate parenting, natural, whole-hearted, purposeful, fundamental, moving from mainstream, etc. So in reading that, you will realize this blog is all about parenting in a more natural, back-to-basics way; I’m a free-spirited person who is confident in my beliefs and values and determined to make a difference. I always research things til I’m blue in the face. I make lists and back-up lists. I plan out the pros and cons. I like to know what I’m getting into, as much as I possibly can. And I love to share my experiences with those who are willing and wanting to listen. I decided on Intuitive Mama because I believe that we should follow our instincts when it comes to all things parenting.

Parenting is messy. It’s complicated. It’s frustrating. (Especially now, as a single mom!) But it’s also very, very rewarding.

My goal here is to share what I know, learn about what I find works (and doesn’t!), and connect with other like-minded parents. I look forward to learning from my readers, too! Please comment on my posts or send me a note at any time! I’ll post things concerning natural parenting, single-parent parenting, eating healthy (with recipes), pregnancy, childbirth, raising lots of kids, crafts and DIYs, etc.

Hopefully you will enjoy reading my posts, share it with others, and we’ll all learn something along the way!

Is there something you’d like to see discussed here? Please email me about it!
